We ARE a Christian Nation!

So, I guess Obama missed "In God We Trust" on our
money, or "under God" in our pledge of allegiance. This
is just more proof of Obama's attempt to undermine the
foundations of our country and turn it into this radical,
socialist, European country. Our forefathers are rolling
over in their graves right now.

Why does "God" necessarily mean the *Christian* God? You know other religions also praise God, eg. Judaism. If we are a "Christian" Nation, what does that mean? Rule by Christian doctrine and law? Theocracy? What about all the jews, muslims, hindus, etc which are American CITIZENS and part of our nation?

Lucky, all those other religions have the right to worship freely, thanks to our forefathers. But to deny that our nation, our laws, our bill of rights were not based on the Christian Bible is ridiculous! I can not understand how some people can seem to be so smart, but then make ignorant statements like those above. Our nation is FOUNDED on Christianity, and Christian principles, you can't argue with the truth.

This nation was hardly founded on the principles of Christianity. Yes, there were a few that came to practive religion freely but the explorers that came to America came in search of wealth and expansion of power.
This nation was built by mass genocide of it's native people and on the backs on the enslaved and oppressed. That couldn't be farther from the God that I serve.

Wow, ignorance rears its ugly head again. Whether or not our founding fathers made mistakes, or sinned, that does not mean they were not Christian. In Christianity, we all sin, and fall short of the glory of God, but luckily we have a merciful Savior that forgives. And now apparently we have 2 people that can judge someone's salvation, YOU and God.

In God We Trust" on the U.S. currency and "under god" in our pledge we both added in 1957 during the McCarthy Era. Many of our founding fathers were of humanist nature and would not like to see a country containing many religions of popularity with one claiming to be the official religion of the nation.

I'm with Teddy Roosevelt; it's offensive to the Christian God I worship to have his name scrawled over the mammon. The U.S. Supreme Court allows "God" on coins and in the pledge as it has merely become "ceremonial deism", which has lost "any significant religious content."

Use it to prove what you want, I guess, with your "undermine the foundations of our country" and all. Good luck, sunshine.
